un dimanche assez relax
un dimanche assez relax
We used to run a weekly feature called Laid Back Sunday, but our blogger Cal is currently chillin’ the fuck out in China right now with his wifey, so it has been left to die.
I figured it was time to ressurect it, at least until he comes back to Montreal. Cal’s specialty was buttery smooth hip-hop songs to nurse the intense Sunday morning hangovers we all likely suffer from, but I don’t think I’ll be keeping it to one genre.
So relax, bump these tunes, and enjoy what’s left of the weekend.
This, my friends, is what is known as a classic. We eat so many shrimp.
Los Angeles duo Pools (thee Mike B + Morse Code) make some of the nicest chill-out music available. Simply put, they concoct vibes for tropical climes, barely dressed dimes and mojitos with lime. This particular tune samples the voice of prominent soundclash legend David Roddigan, and sounds pretty damn awesome.
Montreal’s Purity Ring are pretty incredible. Every single song they have released has been a huge hit with indie + electronic music fans alike. Their debut album will be released in a few days, and it is sure to be stellar. Their sound is hard to categorize, with its dreamy soundscapes and ethereal chants. Fineshrine is their latest offering, and a damn fine one at that. <3
I’m stuck working inside an office building without any A/C today, so I implore you to take advantage of the clutch-ass heat wave we’ve been gifted with. For the love of god, put these songs on an ipod, bring your speakers outside, and chillax by a pool/beach with some mota and cerveza. You owe it to me.
