Wow my personal life has been busy. And music prod has been busy! Not a good combo. While I haven’t posted in a while, the music machine has continued churning out chunes of all sorts. I have been actively scourging the interwebs for those select “golden” chunes, new artists, old artists with new projects and collabs, distinct styles, B-side tape classics, etc since as long as I can remember. And I can tell you that in the last few years music availability has really started to build up some amazing critical mass. If you are a person like me who can’t handle playing the same cd over and over in your car and who’s different moods and moments (later memories) are distinctly tied to certain songs, genres, beats – this should be really great.
Then why haven’t I been sharing songs with y’all like crazy! Other than the distraction of being an adult in the real world (what a drag!), this plethora and multitude of music via a ridiculous number of sources and channels has left me a bit lost. With so many songs to share, how do I select the right ones for the blog? A few months ago, I wanted to share with you all Mr. Bill who I consider a production genius and whom other producers within glitch hop, neuro hop and the like consider a demi-god. 100 of our followers left in retaliation! I understand that Mr. Bill is totally out of the box – making music out of glitches – with his haphazard sudden breaks, blaps, and driving power over neuro frequencies set to evoke mental stimulation. And I understand that his music requires you to have a great sound system with crisp yet loud bass and sounds like shit over laptop speakers. So, please give us feedback. Not only does it validate what we are doing, it helps us share with you stuff that gets you going!
Enough talking. Music. For today I wanted to use Shlohmo’s remix that he dropped a few days ago as a starting point. From there, I’ll try to capture a similar vibe or style while mixing up the energy levels. I won’t be dissecting each track (unless I get asked to). Let’s go!
And here are the some of the songs I posted on the AtV Facebook Page in the past in video form. Enjoy.
And Mr. Bill, if you are curious…
