Emancipator – Dusk to Dawn

If you are looking for subtle grooves, calm down jams, odes to past and present genres, cultural backdrops spanning from india, africa, america, carribean; music created by real musicians for real musicians than Dusk to Dawn release today might be the album for you. Emancipator always provides the right vibes for low frequency activity (studying, fishing, blazed on couch, tai chi, watever). And Dusk to Dawn is simply the best work I’ve seen out of him. I cannot wait to hit up his tour.

Dusk to Dawn by Emancipator

Emancipator: Douglas Appling is a trip hop producer from Oregon. He is always on tour in North America and headlines hippy-esque festivals. Here is an exclusive Stephan Jacobs bootleg of an Emancipator classic that you won’t find very easily. Stephan Jacobs (a lil more crunk) is def worth checking out and is on the North America circuit. And, I’ve also included a track for download that is more of a mash up. A best of both worlds, Mobb Deep and Sigur Ros. How does he do it? Shit if I know.

John Talabot, Softwar, Moonlight Matters, Kenton Slash Demon, Kill Them With Colour, Kendrick Lamar & more

Sometimes it can be draining to filter through music hour after hour in hope of finding something or someone new. It requires time, patience and a bit of luck. Today it payed off for me when I found Danish duo Kenton Slash Demon. This one is their remix of John Talabot‘s ”Last Land”. Very creative – loving it.

John Talabot - Last Land (Kenton Slash Demon Remix)

It’s no surprise the latest Moonlight Matters remix is faring well amongst the music community. Blogs will be posting this for the new few days so if you’re a fan of Hype Machines most popularity charts, look out.

I’ve been following Kill Them With Colour since they were being featured on Tracasseur three years ago. At the time little over one hundred fans followed them. Since then they have released a handful of remixes as well as their Kingdoms EP, and have now amassed over one thousand fans. Recently their remix of Kendrick Lamar’s “Bitch Don’t Kill My Vibe” reached #7 on the Hype Machine charts. I’d like to share another track today, it’s called “Give You Anything”. If you are unfamiliar with KTWK, please listen, and if you like what you hear you can follow through to their Facebook page and hear more.

Softwar is living at the heart of Sydney’s deep house scene. Usually I find it hard to fit a track like this into a mixed artist post, but luckily enough it seems to fit in well enough for me, I would have been disappointed if I had to exclude it for that reason.

One last track I’d like to squeeze into the post is Jay West & Manuel Sahagun‘s “Got Me Insane”. It’s only a sample, but it’s a very generous one, practically 90% of the whole track. My first thought on this track was that Jay West was some cheap wordplay on Jay-Z and Kanye West, turns out the track has nothing to do with rap/hip-hop at all. I’ll probably never forget the name now, so here’s to what the future brings.

Alex Young

Laid Back Sunday

Alex Young remixes the chill-indie-electro song ‘Bad Things’ released by Cults. By adding a bounce to it, playing with its synths, yet maintaining the essence of the melody, the young remixer was able to capture a light-trap feel to it.

Just kickin it

Here’s something to just sit down and kick it. London Grammar collaborates with Dot Major in order to deliver the remix to their debut single:

Dope follow up!
But, if you’re in a more relaxing vibe, you’d want to check out the original:

If you happen to be in the London area in March, the band’s first headline show will be Wed March 27th at Electrowerkz.

Alive (June remix) - Dirty South ft Kate Elsworth

Electroflow

June, Electro / Trap producer, remixes Dirty South’s collabo with Kate Elsworth and creates a more transcendental track, yet maintains Kate’s uplifting voice and redirects the song’s electro flow, making you feel more Alive.

One thing is for sure, it’s only the beginning of the road for June so you can expect more amazingly sick tracks to come.
